Sangay Jamtsho
Sangay is dedicated to uplifting rural communities through developing the perfect cup of coffee. Hailing from Pemagatshel in eastern Bhutan, Sangay grew up on his family’s farm where he developed a deep appreciation for his native land.
With a background in environmental management and passion for fair trade practices, Sangay drives Blue Poppy Coffee’s farming practices and standards, bridging his agricultural roots with a modern vision for rural sustainable and economic development across Bhutan.
Amelia Premfors
Amelia’s global background and appreciation for Bhutan shapes Blue Poppy’s vision. Her experience in Türkiye, Sweden, Rwanda, the UAE, and Bhutan brings a global perspective to Blue Poppy.
With a background in rural youth development while at the Bhutan Youth Development Fund and experience developing climate change solutions at UNICEF Office of Innovation, Amelia’s knowledge of Bhutan’s ecosystem steers Blue Poppy’s strategic vision, connecting agricultural products and its farmers with the global market. Her time in Bhutan inspired a love for the nation’s unique traditions, environment, and people.
